Purification plant for sand and gravel
This purification plant is part of the first facility in the Netherlands that turns bodem ash (the residue that remains in the furnace of a waste-to-energy plant) into sustainable, high quality sand and gravel substitutes for the concrete products industry. The facility was officially opened on September 23, 2016.
The plant consists of 15 frames of 12 meters long and 3 meters high. It includes, among other steel pump bins, conveyor belts and hoppers with wear-resistant coating. Characteristic of the construction of the purification plant is that all the holes and supports for installing the plant have already been made during the construction of the frames. That shortens the installation time on site, and not the least, the protective coating is not damaged.
